A Disney “Frozen” Birthday: Hack My Party!
What is more crazy than a birthday party of 20, 8-10 year-old giggling girls? Not much! We had a “Frozen” birthday and had a blast. The entire family was in on the prep work. It was a homey and fun day! I thought I would share some of our pictures to serve as inspiration for your Frozen birthday party.
My husband took on prepping the main focal point. We stapled twinkle lights onto the wall. (Not smart. Get a sheet of plywood or something else to staple upon. 🙂
The girls ranged in age from 7-10. The crafts listed were perfect amount of challenge without being too frustrating or taking time from what they really wanted to do…which was jump on the trampoline and swing on the tire swing! 🙂
For the Olaf Take Home Bags, I hand cut all the adhesive Felt (Presto Felt) into the shapes needed to make olaf’s hair, eyebrows, mouth and tooth. Added the googly-eyes and the pom-pom nose. Put everything for each project inside the bag.
Next, prep the winter snow globes. We almost didn’t check to see if the trees would stand. They don’t! So, my hubs had to use a wire-cutter and trimmed the bottoms of every tree and then use a foam glue to get the trees to stand. They must dry overnight.
DIY Snowglobe Directions:
1. Hand out a mason jar to each girl.
2. Give out sprinkles and let them go crazy!
3. Add water and a few drops of glycerin to every jar. (jar should be 3/4 full, you will be putting the tree inside as well.)
4. Take the tree, turn it over and place it into the jar of water.
5. Screw the lid on tight.
6. Shake to your hearts delight!
Frozen Lake Punch – I mixed blueberry/acai juice and 7-up for the punch. Then, added ice cream to the top. Deliciousness!
Olaf’s Nose – carrot sticks
Olaf’s Arms – pretzels
Troll Balls – bbq meatballs
Frost Bites – large marshmallows on sticks, dipped in frosting and then blue sprinkles.
Frozen Hearts – white-chocolate covered strawberries (obviously, well-loved! see picture below. )
We also did an adorable karaoke concert featuring the girls and their favorite “frozen” songs.
