Have you used Craftsy.com yet? Oh my goodness, it is so amazing!
Here is a little back story. My daughter is eight and she is totes crafty. So, I had the bright idea to sign her up for dozens and dozens of classes at
JoAnne Fabrics an unnamed crafting store. We were so excited! Sewing classes, cupcake decorating classes, hand knitting, how much fun were we going to have!!??
1. Tried signing up online. Nope. You have to go to the store. Whaaaa?
2. Tried to sign up at the check-out lane. Nope. Gotta go to the back of the store to sign-up and pay.
3. 2,000 years later… we are done signing up for one class.
4. Was given a list after signing up of all the items that I needed to purchase and bring to the class.
Oh well, I wanted to make this a great experience for my daughter, so we trooped into the class happy and excited. I’m not even going to go into the class experience. Just know, we are really nice people so I didn’t punch the instructor in the throat. I’m proud of me. lol
I decided to go another route and try out Craftsy.com. I generally don’t like to do online classes, because unless I have an appointment, I generally don’t get around to doing a class. Craftsy happened to have a bunch of free classes, so I signed up for a few that I thought would interest Bella and myself.
We plopped ourselves down for the free Modern Buttercream class. Just so you know, we consider ourselves master bakers because we have watched every season of Cake Boss. 😉
I expected the class to be maybe a half an hour, after all, it was a freebie. Instead, the class was an hour and a half long, with beautiful videography and clear instruction. The instructor, Joshua John Russell was amazing. We learned so many new techniques that we are going to have to watch it again! They also have beautifully-written, downloadable instructions to go with each class. I could not have been more happy with the results.
p.s. I’m not a paid sponsor. I just loved the class and thought you might, too!
Shout out what class you have taken on Craftsy.com in the comments below. I would love to hear if you loved it as much as we did.
