Spring! While the weather is playing with our minds, 70 one day and snow the next, it is still the time of year for renewal, organizing, cleaning and detoxing. This year, detox waters are all the rage. There are different combinations for various cleansing purposes. The basic combination includes cucumber, parsley and lemon.
You do not need to stop eating food for this detox to work. Make sure to eat of fruits & veggies, fiber & nutrient-rich foods. Eating healthfully + drinking these waters is a great way to get your body ready for spring!
Make Your Water:
Place ingredients in a jar with filtered water in the refrigerator overnight. Strain into a glass and let come to room temperature and drink several glasses a day. This is full of vitamins, minerals, smooths skin and hydrates.
- To detox for cellulite and alcohol, use the basic recipe of cucumber, lemon and parsley.
- For a fat burning detox, use the base combination + adding ginger and Aloe Vera juice. I have an Aloe Vera plant that I scrape juice from the leaves and also it is a beautiful plant to enjoy.
- To stop food cravings, add orange slices and mint, rather than the parsley and cucumber.
Tip Jar: Wash all organic fruits, vegetables and herbs in vinegar water, dry and store appropriately. Store herbs in a glass of water in the refrigerator, covered with a plastic bag. Store cucumbers in the fruit and vegetable drawer, and lemons in a colander on your kitchen table. Pretty!
