I recently was “commissioned” (more like drafted! 😉 to make a piece of art for my daughter’s classroom for the school’s fall fundraising gala. We gathered the kids outside one gorgeous fall day and used their hands to make this heart. Then, I added the school verse to the center. I love this picture so much! There is something about the sweetness of their little hands that just grabs my heart.
Maybe it’s because I am a writer at heart, but I love words, especially inspiring words for my home. And, I love handmade art because it is one-of-a-kind and meaningful. So, I am over the moon when those two stars align and I can have inspiring words + handmade design.
I edited the photo in PicMonkey and then had it printed on canvas and framed in a floating black frame at Walgreens (when they were offering a 50% off sale, so for the 16×20 it was $45!) It was printed in store, so there were no shipping costs either. How awesome to get a piece of meaningful art for such a reasonable price?! Yea!
This was such a fun project. How special to have this hanging on your wall at home? I hope this inspires you to use your gorgeous photography, add a little text and turn it into memorable DIY art for your home.
