Hello! I am Brenda Lindell. I am Kristen’s sister. She is the founder and author of the “Families That Stick” blog. She has invited me to contribute a cookery column. I am a St Paul girl, living in a cute little home in the Como Park neighborhood. Cute little home, cute little kitchen. Sometimes, it’s a ballet to produce some of the recipes I make!
I like to travel, take pictures, cook, eat and hang out with my friends and family.
On a professional front, I work for a large bank, managing teams that build technology applications. I am also chair of the Minnesota Environmental Green Team leading 100’s of volunteers. My passion for the Environment centers around food, gardening and what is healthy for us to consume. I do not believe cost should be the only factor we consider when we are consuming food, but also how and where it’s grown or made.
I am a vegetarian at heart. We are blessed with such a magnificent plant life! They come in every shape and size. There is a limitless world to explore beginning with fruits, vegetables, nuts and herbs. They are colorful, seasonal, healthy and delicious. Their uses and tastes have no end. But, I believe there is a physiological need our bodies have to consume some amount of meat. There is a depth and saltiness that can only be found in meat. If you eat a diet consisting of mostly plant life and a small amount of meat, I think that’s ok. Call me a vegetarian that eats a little meat. 🙂
I am a seasonal cook, so my desire is to give you new recipes to try, helpful tips from “The Tip Jar” and expose you to new ways to eat your fruits and veggies.
I look forward to sharing this journey with you,
