It always happens. You see, we do an envelope system and save all year long for Christmas. But, all of those surprise expenses pop up that can derail even the most devoted budgeters! The kids need Christmas outfits! And, Christmas jammies! Only 4 strands of our outdoor lights work, so we need to purchase new ones! And, I need wrapping paper, ribbons and bows! On and on it goes…
So, I began searching online at the Gap, because I had rewards and figured I could find something that was on sale. Here is the breakdown on how I was able to purchase their Christmas outfits, which retailed for about $100, for under $15.
- The dress, originally $48, was 40% off.
- The sweater, originally $48, was 30% off.
- After searching Retail Me Not, I found an additional 15% off promo.
- I, then, applied my $40 of rewards from my Gap card.
- GAP offered free shipping, if the original purchase price is over $50.
ORDER TOTAL: $14.91 (BOOM. Drop the mike. 🙂 )
Here is my actual order:
Gap is one of my favorite stores for finding great jeans and cute sweaters. They have an awesome sale rack where I generally outfit my son. Never pay full price as they are always offering 40% off. And, if you use your GAP card, you get extra benefits and offers. And, the quality is really nice. The clothes hold up for years.
And, never buy anything online without checking Retail Me Not. They almost always have some kind of discount from every retailer. I even check them for store and restaurant deals.
Now, on to find some great deals on Christmas jammies!
