My hubby and I had it all planned out, how we were going to have a Valentine’s Date without paying for a babysitter. Our son was out of town for the weekend, my daughter had a playdate after school until 7. We would have the entire day to celebrate!…
And then, the flu bug hit our home…HARD. My daughter missed an entire week of school (actually, she isn’t back to school yet!) I didn’t go out of my house until my husband finally sent me to Target, just so I could get my brain back. 😉
Sometimes, when you are married with kids, Valentine’s Day just doesn’t turn out like expected. We are going to get creative and make it special tomorrow with some fun treats!
Valentines Ideas for the Foodie Family (or a Romantic Dinner!):
For breakfast, Nutella & Strawberry crepes.
For supper, we will have a nice Italian Spaghetti with these adorable little noodles. (Of course, I got them at Aldi!)
For dessert, Chocolate Bundt Cake with Chocolate Glaze.
We made these adorable little homemade Strawberry Pop-Tarts last weekend, these would be so fun (& super easy!) for your Valentine’s Breakfast! I made mine with store-bought pie crust and totally regretted it. They were easy, yes. Tasteless, yes. Why, oh why didn’t I make my easy homemade pie crust!? But, they sure were cute!
And, if you absolutely love chocolate, you’ve got to try these absolutely delicious Hot Chocolate Brownie Cups (filled with chocolate ganache) by SpendWithPennies.com. They look labor intensive, but they are actually extremely easy. These are going to be in my heavy dessert rotation. (My only change in her recipe was to use bittersweet chocolate chips for the ganache instead of semi-sweet, because that’s the kind of girl I am! ;))
The great thing about all of these recipes is that you probably have all the ingredients in your cabinets. Enjoy!
Hope you have a wonderful Valentines, filled with chocolate & love!
